Kedarkantha Trek

Day 1: Dehradun → Sankri (approx. 200 km / 7–8 hrs) Early morning drive from Dehradun to Sankri — a scenic village in Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. En route, enjoy beautiful views of pine forests, rivers, and villages. Check-in at a guesthouse in Sankri. Dinner & overnight stay in Sankri.
Day 2: Sankri → Juda Ka Talab (Trek – 4 km / 3–4 hrs) Trek begins after breakfast through pine and oak forests. Reach Juda Ka Talab — a beautiful lake surrounded by snow in winter. Evening bonfire, dinner, and overnight stay at campsite.
Day 3: Juda Ka Talab → Kedarkantha Base Camp (Trek – 4 km / 3–4 hrs) Moderate ascent through dense forest and open meadows. Arrive at Kedarkantha Base Camp with stunning views of Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch ranges. Hot dinner and overnight camping under starry skies.
Day 4: Base Camp → Kedarkantha Summit → Hargaon (Trek – 6 km / 6–7 hrs) Early morning summit push to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises in the Himalayas. Enjoy 360° views of snow-covered peaks from the summit (3,810 m). Capture breathtaking moments before descending to Hargaon campsite. Overnight stay at Hargaon.
Day 5: Hargaon → Sankri (Trek – 6 km / 3 hrs) Descend through forest trails filled with pine trees and scenic views. Return to Sankri village, freshen up, and explore local surroundings. Overnight stay at guesthouse in Sankri
Day 6: Sankri → Dehradun (Drive – 200 km / 7–8 hrs) Trek ends with the Trip Kara De team ensuring a comfortable return journey.

Sankri Village : Base village for Kedarkantha Trek. Explore the beautiful pine and oak forests, local culture, and Himalayan village life. Great for photography & sunrise/sunset views.
Har Ki Dun Valley : Often combined with Kedarkantha in longer trips. Known as the “Valley of Gods”, it’s a lush green Himalayan valley with rivers, waterfalls, and alpine meadows. Trekking destination for adventure lovers.
Tehri Dam : (optional on return) On the way back to Dehradun, you can stop at Tehri Lake. Offers boating, water sports, and scenic views of the largest reservoir in Uttarakhand.
Ruinsara Tal : (Advanced Trek) A small glacial lake, around 2–3 hours trek from Kedarkantha Base. Best for photographers & adventure seekers wanting a less crowded experience.
Dodital Lake : A serene lake surrounded by mountains, about 2–3 hours detour from Sankri. Perfect for camping, fishing, and photography. A quieter alternative if you want a peaceful Himalayan experience.
