Pindari Trek

The Pindari Glacier Trek, located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, is one of the most scenic and beginner-friendly Himalayan treks. It takes you through lush forests, charming villages, and alongside the Pindar River, leading to the majestic glacier at an altitude of around 3,660 meters. The trek offers breathtaking views of peaks like Nanda Devi and Maiktoli, making it a photographer’s paradise. Known for its easy accessibility and natural beauty, it’s often called the “Soul of Kumaon Treks.


Pindari Trek

Day 1: Kathgodam → Khati (Drive + Trek, approx. 8–9 hrs drive + short trek)
Early morning departure from Kathgodam.
Drive through scenic routes via Lalkuan, Haldwani, Almora, Dhakuri to reach Gwaldam or Dhakuri base.
Short trek to Khati, the last inhabited village in the Pindari Valley.
Overnight stay at Khati guesthouse or campsite.
Day 2: Khati → Dwali (Trek 8 km / 4–5 hrs)
After breakfast, begin trek from Khati to Dwali, passing through dense forests and rivers.
Trek through oak, pine, and rhododendron forests, with views of Nanda Kot and Changuch peaks.
Reach Dwali, set up camp.
Overnight stay at Dwali campsite.
Day 3: Dwali → Pindari Glacier → Dwali (Trek 10–12 km / 6–7 hrs)
Early morning trek to Pindari Glacier, witnessing spectacular views of glacial streams, waterfalls, and Himalayan peaks.
Explore the glacier area, take photos, and enjoy the serene environment.
Return trek to Dwali in the evening.
Overnight stay at Dwali campsite.
Day 4: Dwali → Khati (Trek 8 km / 4–5 hrs)
After breakfast, trek back from Dwali to Khati, retracing the scenic trail.
Evening at leisure in Khati village, enjoy local views and relax.
Overnight stay at Khati guesthouse or campsite.
Day 5: Khati → Kathgodam (Drive approx. 8–9 hrs)
Early morning drive back from Khati to Kathgodam.
En route, enjoy views of the Almora hills, forests, and rivers.
Trip concludes at Kathgodam with memorable Himalayan experiences.
About Pindari Trek

Kausani : A peaceful hill station known as the “Switzerland of India”, offering panoramic views of Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli peaks. Famous for its tea gardens and Anasakti Ashram.
Baijnath Temple :
An ancient 12th-century temple complex located near Kausani on the Gomti River. Known for its beautiful stone architecture and spiritual vibes.
Dhakuri Top :
A scenic mountain pass that offers breathtaking views of the snow-covered Himalayan range. It’s a popular stop for photography and camping.
Khati Village :
The last inhabited village on the Pindari route, known for its traditional wooden houses, friendly locals, and serene Himalayan setting.
Dwali Campsite :
A beautiful campsite surrounded by forests and streams, offering views of Nanda Kot Peak. It’s a perfect resting point during the trek.
